It a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there to hear it does it make a sound?

More importantly

If I pass an opinion and my wife's not there to hear it, am I still wrong!?

geek geek geek Scientifically speaking, a falling tree "makes no sound" in the first place; it creates vibrations in the air that are interpreted as sound by living things' brains. If no living thing were around, the phenomenon we call sound couldn't occur, though of course the vibrations in the air still would.  geek geek geek

Yes -- the forceful expulsion of gas both swallowed during eating and drinking, and created within the bowels during digestion, creates vibrations in the anal sphincter and occasionally also the buttocks, leading to a transmission of these vibrations through the air and perhaps furniture in the case of a seated individual. The more violent the expulsion of flatus, of course, the more intense the vibration of the sphincter and buttocks, and the louder the perceived "sound" they create.

 lol!
