Christmas Time & Hampers

What is your opinion of them?

3/4 yearz ago we had one sent to us from Harrods, not to our preference, we gave most of it away.


We have either Christmas day or boxing day with the kids and a day in our own home so we do not get in stack of snap like we used to do.

Shop bought hampers look lovely, and I bet the Harrods one was very extravagant, but most hampers have stuff in them nobody really eats, so make your own if you want to give someone a hamper as a gift.

Having said that....if I was sent a luxury one I would be sure to enjoy it.

Lidls are excellent, and one would imagine that the far right fraggles on here would appreciate ze German touch.

Yep..
Definitely sounds a lot better --  more flowing and rhythmic --  in the original native German.        

I used to be able to sing "Stille Nacht" all the way through.

Oh sorry, hampers....yeah shit.
Unless they're full of whisky, salty snacks and special tobacco don't bother.

I like a good traditional German Yuletide, put the decorations up on the 6th, I've already seen one home daubed in bright lights, far too early IMO!

Not if you make them up yourself....they include only what you know will be useful, and they cost a fraction of the price.

I did ...along with many many others in vienna cathedral a few years back

Ahhh...christmas in vienna..concerts, spanish riding school and the cathedral....
