David Cameron fuelled the rise of the ISLAMIC STATE, damning new report reveals

DAVID Cameron is responsible for the rise of the Islamic State across North Africa due to his haphazard military intervention in Libya, according to a parliamentary inquiry.

The Remain-backing former Prime Minister was found to be “ultimately responsible” for the failure of the controversial 2011 bombing campaign, concluded the foreign affairs committee.

Cameron launched the strikes based on poor intelligence and then allowed the military mission to switch its objective away from protecting civilians and towards the removal of Colonel Gaddafi, the report said.

Britain and France launched airstrikes against Libya after an uprising in the country sparked the Arab Spring.

The report slams Cameron for being in favour of regime change in Libya without having planned for the aftermath of Gaddafi’s removal.

It reads: “By the summer of 2011, the limited intervention to protect civilians had drifted into an opportunist policy of regime change. That policy was not underpinned by a strategy to support and shape post-Gaddafi Libya.

“The result was political and economic collapse, inter-militia and intertribal warfare, humanitarian and migrant crises, widespread human rights violations, the spread of Gaddafi regime weapons across the region and the growth of Islamic State in north Africa.”

The MPs added: “Through his decision making...David Cameron was ultimately responsible for the failure to develop a coherent Libya strategy.

Barack Obama mirrored the report’s findings in a speech he gave several months ago where he suggested Britain had not done enough “follow up” work after the conflict.

The 49 page report found Britain failed to recognise Gaddafi’s threat to the civilian population had been exaggerated, drew up a post-conflict plan not based on reality.

The Muslims in Libya were already kicking off over there against gadaffi...


But they were claiming to be fighting for freedom and democracy...


What they were really after was freedom to impose their islam onto everyone else...

And what of Cameron?

I was against the intervention in Libya.

He's another bloody Blair

Both Blair and Cameron made decisions which, in retrospect, this country had great cause to regret.

At least Cameron had the advantage of hindsight, if he followed Blair's decision making during the Gulf wars.
He didn't learn the lesson of starting a conflict without a comprehensive exit strategy.

Under gaddafi there was relative peace and stability and minority groups were relatively safe and protected.


Just like under Saddam hussein in Iraq... and in Syria under assad...

IT IS being a bit loose with the truth, to blame Cameron for the rise of ISiS...

As the ISIS/ISIL phenomenon was a result of unrest among extremist Islamist punks and criminals dissatisfied with the efforts from the likes of al Qaeda and the Taliban, the true cause of their rise needs to be sheeted home to earlier interventions by the Bush/Blair/Howard allied efforts against Saddam in Iraq and al Qaeda in Afghanistan..

As Tommy suggested above, there was some relative peace in their neighbourhoods when the despots Saddam Hussein and Gadaffi were still in power in their own countries...
ISIS was already active in the background over there, when various groups were celebrating the "Arab Spring" events from Libya back down to Egypt..

Later to the party leaders, like Cameron and co., simply "added fuel to the fire", and helped their progress and development along.      Also, foreign leaders were able to see ISIS gaining influence for a year or more, before they decided to start moving against them --  they could have acted sooner, if they had seriously wanted to..        

This is why he gave up being an MP. We thought there was something behind it, and there we have it.

Thanks a bunch Cameron, another Bliar. Bought all this trouble to countries then bugger off and leave us to it, bah!
