Success means having money....

Or does it?
Points to consider:
1) Success is often measured in money and material things, but how important is it to you?
2) What would your ideal world look like and how would it work, if you could rule out earning money or its equivalent?
3) Would you choose, poor and your soulmate or rich and a moderately okay marriage?
4) How much of your happiness relies upon the state of your bank balance?

Some of the happiest times I've had are without money. Money brings it's own worries with it. But....we do need it. Perhaps being comfortably off is better than filthy rich.

I like to buy nice things for us and family, go to nice places etc, so money is useful for that, it's certainly not the most important thing in life though.

I cant see it ever working...people need to trade, not everyone has the power or knowledge to trade the things others want to buy.

I chose the first and took it from there.

The most important things in life to me are health and family...money brings comfort and makes life easier, ultimately it doesn't bring happiness imo.

You know I think that having lots of money can bring some people unhappiness, especially if you are born into it.
There's a guy lives opposite me, his house is a four bedroom, four bathroom affair and costs £850,000
His dad bought it for him, and his other three brothers also have a house that daddy bought.
All four of them are absolute wasters; a gambler, an alcoholic, a racing boy (totalled three cars) and a pothead layabout.
The parents are rarely in the country and this guy is the most miserable-looking soul you've ever seen.

Maybe the parents lavished money on them in place of love?
A happy loving childhood sets you up to cope with things maybe a cosseted (by money) childhood doesn't prepare you for.
Also...is anything more rewarding than saving like mad to get a treasured item? having everything drop into your lap with no effort must make a person not value anything in the same way.

That's what I think too. Money on tap loses it's worth eventually.

If you do a job you like, get paid a decent amount for it, and have friends, family and your health, you’re a success imo.

Yeah I agree. Job satisfaction is paramount for the money side of things.
And I am happy to live pretty simply too. Some women I know spend so much money on tanning salons and nail bars, getting their talons painted.

Lol...seriously, my OH was one digit away from winning the Euro lottery once...and that digit was just ONE number out, the man who checked the ticket said it was the nearest win he had ever seen.....the amount dropped from 13 million to a pittance in comparison, but it bought us a nice family holiday.
The truth is I was GLAD he hadn't won the big prize...our lives would have changed overnight...and I am happy with life as it is.

life is much much easier with money than with out
so it one aspect of success
but so is health and happiness and many other things.
It is relative also to the starting position and expections of wealth.
And Money can Buy happiness, you can purchase at the animal shelter
