What if........?

I have an idea that would change the world. Don't know if it'll work, but it makes for a good discussion.

What if.....the word 'No' never existed?

Would more positive actions occur or would they all be negative? Would the world be any worse off, than it already is?

MAYBE more people could be getting a smack across the head to stop them doing something -- rather than simply telling them "Don't do that !"

HOW COULD you possibly teach a kid (or many adults, for that matter..) not to do something dangerous/messy/uncomfortable/nasty/bullying/illegal, if you couldn't say to them "No ! Don't do that.." ?

WELL, surely it's a positive if someone says something that prevents a negative situation from occurring, for instance :

"No ! Don't run out into the traffic !"

"Stop ! Don't put that marble up your nose !"

"Do no(t) stick your tongue in that powerpoint !"

"No ! 'Sexting' boys in your class is not a good way to get a date.."

"'No !' Means NO ! Go ahead and you're committing rape !"

"No! Don't put that toadstool in your mouth !"

No is a good word. It saves a woman being taken advantage of, saves kids being spoiled rotten....and the Drugs campaign "Just say No" would be pointless.

Maybe the word WAR would be a better one to eliminate.

I'm also thinking how many life-changing things would occur too. Perhaps I meant the concept of the world "no" rather than the word..?
I can think of a whole load of positives and I could argue away your negatives above (there's a way round the word no isn't there?)

Someone else think of an idea that could change the world?

Even eliminating war wouldn't solve anything - whoever said that above.

WHAT ABOUT if 'violence' as a concept could be totally abolished -- rather than simply focussing on separate component elements, such as "fighting", "wars", "rioting", "domestic abuse", "violence against children/women/defenceless animals", "spousal abuse", "corporal punishment", "sexual abuse", "capital punisment" and the rest ???

Sassy....even if everyones skin was the same colour there would still be bigoted discrimination.... accents, sexual orientation, gender, class, religion, ginger hair.....and so on.

And a mini zap if they think it but don't actually say or act on it it....though I reckon we would all have the odd mini zap.
