The 40-year-old was today due to be hosting a meeting with Christian friends about the importance of Easter.
Mr Shah, who is originally from the Pakistani city of Rabwah, posted his Easter wishes on Facebook at 5.10pm last night - just four hours before he was murdered.
The post, the last one he made before his death, said: 'Good Friday and a very Happy Easter, especially to my beloved Christian nation.'

A dreadful business, and I hope the murderers are caught soon. They'll probably get off with manslaughter though.

However, is the suggestion that he was killed for being a Muslim? I'm not sure about the relevance of him meeting Christian friends.

interesting...I did wonder if it was another Muslim, however that doesnt stop it being religioulsy motivated does it.....

Obviously something to do with the poor guy supporting Christianity, which just goes to show that the haters are all among us, and even Muslims aren't safe from Muslims. Sadly, this is exactly why there are fears for any hope of Muslims actually standing up against extremism or for supporting and accepting other religions if the extremists ever got the upper hand.

AS WITH Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism == Islam is a multi-faceted faith;
"A house with many rooms.."

THEY each have their liberal, conservative and fundamentalist divisions, all with various sects, cults and fringe loons.

WHY it will always be difficult to foster understanding and co-operation even within various religions;

The killer, Tanveer Ahmed, has said that he didn't kill Mr Shah because of his messages about Christians, he did it because Mr Shah claimed to be a prophet. Neutral
