I sometimes think that sentences are too lenient, but that other sentences are too harsh. I think this one was too harsh really. The girl wasn't a baby and she did get drunk and go along with it.

I read a really bizarre story about a woman who met some bloke on the internet, met up with him and had sex several times blindfolded, and it turned out to be a woman with a strap on thingy. 
She was sentenced to 8 years in prison!
I mean - what kind of idiot would agree to that sort of thing in the first place?

I just find it bizarre that it went to court at all. I think I would have just told the "victim" that if she insisted on meeting a strange "man" on the internet and wearing a blindfold every time they met up for two years, she deserved all she got!

When the victim is legally incapable of giving consent, there is no sense in going into the status of the victim. It's not a factual question, but a legal one.
The sentence should focus solely on the accused. I know a case in North Carolina where a guy got 19-years for the same thing. In the UK it's a joke.
