Abbott's business adviser says Australia "held hostage" by global warming "madness"

Tony Abbott should order his top business adviser to withdraw ''ignorant comments'' asserting that climate change policy is destroying Australia's manufacturing sector and competitiveness, says Labor.

"The scientific delusion, the religion behind the climate crusade, is crumbling"

The opposition's acting environment spokesman Shayne Neumann said Maurice Newman's comments ''damage Australia's relationships with its trading partners".

In an opinion piece in The Australian newspaper, Mr Newman, the Prime Minister's pick as head of his Business Advisory Council, claimed high energy costs caused by the carbon tax and the renewable energy target, introduced under the Howard government, had eroded Australia's competitiveness.

IT IS quite enlightening (or not - for those already following developments down here..) to have a look at just who makes up Abbott's "Business Advisory Council"...

A bunch of former company CEO's and directors appointed by Abbotts bosses from the Australian Business Council.. And with the Aussie Bludger's Club having a central core policy position of less environmental protection and less worker protection, along with smaller government and lower taxation for businesses, it is no surprise that a former mining company boss came out telling porkies about climate change, while trying to appear that his idiot opinion is actually worth something !!

The Aussie Bandits' Collective was also the "(self-)chosen" nominating body for appointees to another advisory body - this time on flogging off 'government owned' assets - that at the end of last week released a list of Federal and State assets they reckon should be sold off.. NOT that anybody was actually surprised at it's so-called "conclusions"..

AND at the same time it won't surprise anybody that these groups are inevitably composed entirely of r/w capitalist loons ~ with not a single scientist, medico, worker or community rep' among any of these "advisory" bodies...

time for a change already.

Australia is being sold quick smart by Abbot, we were already being sold but he is making it worse.
Lets not forget he only got in because Murdoch kept unreasoablly hounding Julia Gillard, I wonder when and how he is going to pay that debt off, what will Australia have to give Rupert?

Yeah, just checked out a poll and from what I saw, the Abbott Government's approval is plummeting while Labor is making big gains. :D

I wouldn't be surprised if Rupert's desires are pretty well in line with those of the "Australian Business Council's" wishlist.. (And News corp. is big enough that their rep' will automatically be sitting at the head prefects' table at their quarterly meetings..).

I.E. lower tax rates, smaller government, removal of environmental protections, less orders' protections, and less rights and representations for local communities.

A strange thing about Herr R. Murdoch is just how anti-environment he is in his beliefs personally, when so many other family members are pro-conservation and pro-community (especially Lachlan and Sarah; and then there's the fact that Rupert's mum was one of the founding members of the Australian Conservation Foundation; as well as patron to more than a hundred charities !). scratch
