LOL, I'm not going to listen to it, I really don't want a One Direction song going round in my head!!!
Mine would be this, because I always find myself singing it round the house

Did you Sassy, thats brilliant, would I have heard of the band?
I would have loved to sing professionally but when I was young I didn't have the nerve.
Eve Graham of the New Seekers said I should audition once (I worked in a club she sang in before she became famous) but I chickened out.

Please don't mKe me say my earworm...!
It took me pretty much the whole of last year to get the song out of my head (it's a bloody good song!) and then a brilliant cover band recorded it and I am back singing it constantly
Here is my favourite cover of it. As singers, you'll both love this:

Was years ago Syl, in Singapore, we used to sing in the nightclubs. The main fella was Sy who was Egyptian, he played the piano, then we had Mike who played double bass and another bloke who played just about everything lol. I had a whale of a time! We were called Me and Them, not very original. In those days I had a 38inch bust, 23inch waist and long blond hair. It was fun.

Think the music is wonderful, really gets the feel for the programme, but to me it's not an earworm because you can't sing it lol Got to have words to be an earworm for me.

Isn't it bloody good! Go and watch their version of Adele's "Hallo" it's far better then hers and they play these objects for instruments and two tap dancers are the beat
You'll be blown away

It's a brilliant song, the original used to haunt me too, it seemed to play everywhere, shops, cafes. restaurants, restrooms....it was always on in the background. The video of it was great too.
This one is a good version, and the man on the right is a dead ringer for Eric Cantana.

You are probably still gorgeous Sassy....and it sounds like you had a fabulous time.
Can you still sing? I cant, not sure what happens to womens voices when they get older. The lucky ones like Lulu and Bassey can still belt em out, but most womens voices, even the greats like Dionne Warwick and Dusty, change drastically as they age.

You love al the soul stuff too don't you Rags......and Motown? I remember a thread we had once somewhere and most of the stuff you liked was good.
One of my very old favourites...the video is dated but the sound isn't.

Oh I wish lol. OH thinks I am, but he's biased. Mind you, feeling pretty chipper at the moment as just come back from hairdressers, always does you good doesn't it. I still sing, but only round the house now, get so many throat infections never know when it's going to go. You are so right, women's voices do change, but I comfort myself that even Placido Domingo went from tenor to baritone now he is older, still love him though!
These are some of his I love to sing:

Sassy...that's a nice calming song, I am listening to it as I type this.
Hey, if your OH still sees you as a gorgeous woman who cares what anyone else thinks? My OH is convinced I still look like I always did, now considering we have been married for 41 years he is either bad sighted or simple minded. but as long as that's what he sees...we are both happy.

Yes Syl, I love all the old Motown stuff, and northern soul. I really wish someone would do some new stuff with the same sound, and sometimes someone comes close but they can't quite capture it. Northern soul is great because there's absolutely loads of it around to discover if you look for it. I don't know if they go for that kind of thing in the US, or even if they know what it is, but it's a bit of a cult-like thing in the UK.
I like uptempo music rather than slow ballads. Billy Paul is great of course - love his version of Your Song.

Re: Earworms.
Some clubs like Wigan casino imported a lot of American stuff....it did a lot better here than it did in the states.
Northern soul does have a sound of it's own, that's true.
