What's really funny is that all these advocates of trickle-down economics and austerity measures don't seem to know the one fool-proof trick for determining whether deregulation could spur economic activity.

Basically, you look for a black market. If there's a large black market, whatever regulations or laws are making it "black" could at least theoretically be revised or rescinded and create "legit" economic expansion. Just ask the states of Colorado and Washington Smile

Of course, not every black market would be appropriate for this -- and the vast majority of what trickle-downers want to deregulate has no attendant black market, meaning the regulations just increase the already-vast wealth of the people running said market.

I found this post on FB and had to share it. It is spot on: "Trickle down [economics] used to be called horse and sparrow, which is more appropriate. If you give the horse enough oats, a few might end up in its crap for the sparrow to get a little bit."
There you have the Republican philosophy in a nut shell.
