I think its okay to be proud of your child or that you are proud to call Jesus your saviour . It isn't the destructive pride .

A fun story about how weird Texas really is (edited a bit to save the punchline for the end):
The name of this wonderful lady, the "First Lady of Texas"?
Ima Hogg.
Seriously!

The “First Lady of Texas,” was the daughter of the 20th governor of Texas. She was never a governor’s wife, but she ended up with the title of “First Lady of Texas” because of all the work she did to bring culture and education to Texas. She donated artwork to Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts and served on a committee to plan the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. An enthusiastic collector of early American antiques, she also served on a committee that found the historical furniture for the White House.
Her family was one of the oil families of Texas, and she used this income to benefit Texans. In 1929, she founded the Houston Child Guidance Center, which provides counseling for children and their families. She established a foundation for Mental Health at the University of Texas at Austin in 1940. She became a member of the Houston School Board in 1943 and worked to remove gender and race as criteria for determining pay. She established art education programs for black students. She never married, and she died in 1975. Her foundation was the major beneficiary of her will and carries on her philanthropic work today.
